This is 40 Megan Fox TattooWhen Megan Fox was cast as the beautiful shopper, Desi, in the new follow-up to the 2007 film Knocked Up, it seems she may have had to make a few compromises. In some of Megan’s sexier scenes in Judd Apatow’s This is 40, you’ll notice that she is mysteriously missing some of her most famous tattoos, including the Shakespeare quote on her shoulder, the Nietzsche quote on her ribs, and the self-written poem on her side. Although Megan has remained adamant about not giving up her tattoos for movie roles, she appears to have conceded the temporary cover-up of some of her tattoos…just this once. And she was even outfitted with a brand new tattoo in their place!

Megan Fox Gains Some New Ink for This is 40, and Loses Signature Quote Tattoos

In addition to the absence of her majorly pregnant belly, you might notice something else missing from Megan Fox’s body on the new This is 40 trailer: the actress’ quote tattoos! It seems director Judd Apatow didn’t think three of Megan Fox’s tattoos fit with the film, and opted to cover them up for the actress’ role as Desi in the sequel to 2007′s Knocked Up. Don’t worry though! Where Megan lost some signature ink, she gained what looks like a Longhorn Steakhouse tattoo on her ribcage, under her left breast. We’re not sure what this tattoo has to do with Megan Fox’s cameo in the film, which is based on another character coming to grips with the idea of turning 40, but we’re interested!

Megan Covers Up Well-Known Tattoos for a Movie Role

The newest trailer for This is 40 features a sexy Megan Fox as Desi, a beautiful shopper who decides to try on new clothing in a store, stripping down to a lacy pink bra and leopard-print underwear. In a quick teaser scene featuring Fox, the actress has undressed and is standing with her back to the dressing room mirror. This gives us all a full glimpse of Megan’s bare belly, and her noticeably absent Nietzsche quote tattoo and self-written poem tat on her left and right sides. If you take a peek in the mirror, you can see that Megan has lost her infamous Shakespeare quote on her right shoulder blade as well.

Megan Fox’s Most Famous Tattoos

Megan Fox This is 40 TattooBesides her Marilyn Monroe tat – which is in the process of being removed in real life – Megan Fox’s most well-known tattoos are probably her Shakespeare, Nietzsche and poem tattoos. The quote on Megan’s right shoulder, an adaptation from Shakespear’s King Lear, reads “We will all laugh at guilded butterflies.” The quote believed to have originated from Friedrich Nietzsche that Megan sports on her right ribcage is a tribute to Mickey Rourke and reads, “And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.” Finally, the self-written poem tat Megan has on her left side says, “There was once a little girl who never knew love until a boy broke her HEART.”

Megan: “I’ll quit Hollywood and go to work at Costco”

Megan Fox is very proud of her tattoos and she has no time for people in Hollywood who aren’t a fan of her ink. In fact, she once said, “Every time I get a tattoo, it’s a little f- you to anyone who tells me not to.” Apparently Megan doesn’t think the fact that she has some tattoos should dictate what roles she gets in the movie business, and why should it? Angelina Jolie has quite a few tattoos herself, and her Hollywood career is doing just fine. Megan obviously feels very strongly about this point though, and once went so far as to say, “I’m not kidding when I say that if I ever lose a role because of my tattoos, I’ll quit Hollywood and go to work at Costco.” Well it seems like she gave in a little bit for her This is 40 role. She didn’t not get the part because of her tattoos, but she did have to temporarily cover some of them up for the film. Here’s to compromise!
