When she was 18, Megan Fox got a portrait of icon Marilyn Monroe inked on her right forearm. Apparently Megan spent her childhood adoring Miss Monroe, and even recalls crying every time she heard her voice. However, Megan has decided at 25 that the Marilyn tattoo no longer “makes sense,” and has opted for laser surgery to get the tat removed from her body. Find out why Megan Fox’s Marilyn tattoo is being removed!

Megan Fox Marilyn Monroe Tattoo

Megan Fox’s most famous tattoo is probably the portrait of Marilyn Monroe the actress has inked on the inside of her right forearm. However, as the years have passed Megan has decided that she is no longer in love with the forearm tat. Megan Fox’s Marilyn tattoo was inked when the Transformers star was 18, and now that she is 25, she says she is just plain “over it.” More specifically, Megan said, “You outgrow things that you love when you were a child. I got it when I was 18 and now I’m 25 and it just doesn’t make sense anymore. [Laser removal] is a hundred times worse than the tattoo itself.” Now that Megan Fox knows how painful getting a tattoo removed is, maybe she will put more thought into her body tattoos in the future!

Megan Fox’s Marilyn Tattoo Meaning

Marilyn Monroe has been Megan Fox’s idol since she was a little girl. As Megan recalls, “She was one of the first people I saw on television, like, literally moments after I was born. Every time I heard her voice growing up I would always cry. I wouldn’t know why when I was younger but I had my own theories. I’ve just always empathized with her.” Apparently, Megan Fox’s Marilyn tattoo has always been her favorite tat, not only because of her love for the sex symbol, but also because of the forearm tattoo’s sixties theme.

Megan Fox and Her Marilyn Monroe Obsession

In the past, Megan Fox has discussed the similarities she sees between herself and Marilyn Monroe, even once revealing that she was afraid she might die early like the on-screen siren. “I basically read every book ever written about Marilyn Monroe,” says Megan Fox. “I could end up like that because I constantly struggle with the idea that I think [I have] borderline personality [disorder] – or that I have bouts of mild schizophrenia. I definitely think I have some kind of mental problem and I haven’t pinpointed what it is.”

Megan’s Marilyn Tattoo Removal

Rumors have been swirling about the Megan Fox tattoo removal, most of which hint that Megan has begun laser surgery treatment to remove the Hollywood icon from her arm. Apparently Megan is afraid having Marilyn Monroe inked on her arm will draw negative energy to herself, due to Monroe’s personality disorders. “I’m removing it,” Megan said herself. “It is a negative character, as she suffered from personality disorders and was bipolar. I do not want to attract this kind of negative energy in my life.”

And if you still don’t believe it, check out pictures of Megan Fox’s arm tattoo that show the famous face of Marilyn Monroe rapidly becoming more and more faded. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem having a tattoo removed is quite as easy as Megan was expecting. “After the first session Megan was freaking out over how badly it hurt,” said one of Megan’s friends. “Her friend suggested a mouth guard to bite down on to help deal with the pain and protect her teeth.” Megan’s on-again, off-again beau, Brian Austin Green reportedly scored a mouth guard at a nearby sporting goods store to help Megan through en experience that others have said feels like “a rubber band snap,” or “getting hot specks of bacon grease on your skin.” We’re guessing she will think twice before getting another Megan Fox tattoo that she’s not completely in love with.
